Mr. Clendenning has a deep passion for teaching history and giving students the tools to decipher the world around them. Mr. Clendenning believes that to have a informed citizenry it is essential that students can objectively learn by looking at all sides of different historical issues to come to their own understanding and become lifelong learners.
Mr. Clendenning perpetually strives to improve his pedagogy. He attends on going Professional Developments at universities such as Columbia Teacher’s College and Top educational programs. Mr. Clendenning meets with experts from New Visions, an elite educational center to improve literacy in the classroom and improve student learning. Mr. Clendenning is also a Member of Long Island Social Studies Council. Staying up to date on current historical research and trends within the social sciences to keep students competitive is Mr. Clendenning's main goal.Mr. Clendenning has taught multiple professional development classes to the staff at his school . Mr. Clendenning gave a professional development about how to implement technology in the classroom.Mr. Clendenning has worked collaboratively with the IT department to better implement new programs and up to date technology in the classroom
